UN International Mother Earth Day 2025 recognises the earth and its ecosystem as humanity's common home and the need to protect them to enhance people’s livelihoods and counteract climate change.
One of Ipieca’s core roles is to raise awareness and support for UN conventions and initiatives, and develop good practice guidance to support these.
To mark International Mother Earth Day 2025 Ipieca is sharing a selection of its guidance and resources to support environmentally responsible operations across the oil, gas and alternative energy sector, minimise and mitigate risks and impacts from operations and products, and contribute to nature positive outcomes:
- A guide to developing biodiversity action plans
- Biodiversity and ecosystem services fundamentals
- Environmental management in the upstream oil and gas industry
- Invasive alien species and the energy industry
- Managing biodiversity and ecosystem services across the energy transition: mainstreaming the mitigation hierarchy
- Marine spill preparedness and response resources
- Natural climate solutions: high carbon stock ecosystems management
- Water management framework
- Water stewardship
