Peter Taylor has managed the Oil Spill Preparedness Regional Initiative for the Caspian Sea, Black Sea and Central Eurasia (OSPRI) under the Global Initiative umbrella since its inception in 2003. This is currently delivered via a part time consultancy.
His career in oil spills extends over 40 years and includes project work in more than 70 countries. This has involved close liaison with international partners including IMO, UNEP, IOPC Funds, OSRL, Itopf and others.
Beyond OSPRI, he has supported development of regional oil spill capacity building in Sea East Asia, South Asia, East Africa, West Africa. the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. He is a co-author of several of the Ipieca-IOGP good practice guidance concerning oil spill preparedness and response.
