The Ipieca sustainability article round-up showcases recent sustainability-related achievements, projects and news from Ipieca members, demonstrating their support for the Ipieca Principles around advancing environmental and social performance across the energy transition. We also highlight initiatives from our partner organizations and share insights from key United Nations meetings.

The energy technology company has recently announced several milestones to support the growth of the hydrogen economy. These include the unveiling of a new hydrogen testing facility in Italy, the completion of manufacturing and testing of hydrogen turbines for Air Products’ Net-Zero Hydrogen Energy Complex in Canada.

Taking industrial burners to market to support transition to hydrogen

The American multinational is joining forces with Zeeco to market industrial burners for manufacturing facilities that can run on up to 100% hydrogen. The new burners could help industrial customers significantly reduce their emissions as they explore fuel switching from natural gas to hydrogen.

TotalEnergies supports ONGC to detect and measure methane emissions in India

TotalEnergies is sharing its Airborne Ultralight Spectrometer for Environmental Applications (AUSEA) technology with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation to detect, measure and reduce methane emissions from the latter company’s assets in India. The drone-mounted AUSEA gas analyser can detect emissions and identify their source with industry-leading accuracy.

The Council for Inclusive Capitalism has launched a new resource library to support business practices which also benefit people and the planet, comprised of best practices, operational tools and manuals from Council Allies. Resources in the library are aligned with the World Economic Forum International Business Council’s pillars for sustainable value creation and support contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

New regional platform to accelerate energy access in Eastern and Southern Africa

The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa and the World Bank are set to launch a USD 50 million regional platform to support participating countries to fill technical knowledge and skills gaps to support clean energy projects. By increasing access to specialised technical support for the public and private sectors, the platform aims to accelerate access to clean energy.
